Vison Chemicals designs and builds SS316L inline high shear homogenizers for the production of waterborne polyurethane dispersion (PUD) and the emulsification of PU prepolymer into water. The rotor-stator workhead applies intense mechanical and hydraulic shear to break the hydrophobic polyurethane prepolymer and isocyanate-terminated chains into a stable aqueous dispersion with fine, uniform particle size. The result is a low-VOC polyurethane dispersion used as a binder in waterborne coatings, leather finishing and textile coatings. Modular units scale from 0.5 to 30 m3/h for pilot and full-scale PUD production lines.
